Pouring Concrete for The Park at One Riverfront
As folks are moving into Glass House the next building in Riverfront Park starts up. For those who have never seen a concrete pour done I shot this photo in the afternoon. When I was walking my pup that night they had everything lit up with spotlights and were still working on it. It takes a full team and tons of equipment to pour a floor. I personally want to drive the big smoothers that go spinning across the wet concrete. Looks like a big bumper car.
The Park at One Riverfront is a very cool building in an awesome location. Nestled right IN the Union Station view corridor it has two sets of killer views. One set looks out at Commons Park, the other straight down the Union Station view corridor. Awesome. But don’t look for a studio in this building. It is 3 stories with 6 units per floor of two and three bedrooms. Since it is literally in the view corridor the height limit is 35 feet.

Apple announces Iphone
It’s amazing how quickly things change. Just over a year ago I was a total PC fan, using the database management tools. Then a buddy I know, Chris, told me I would be on an apple platform when I moved down here to work on the launch of Glass House. I think he was shocked that I was actually excited to try it out.
And guess what, I loved it. So much so that today when he told me that Macworld was announcing the Iphone I did backflips. He found this great blog where someone actually at Macworld is taking photos and blogging the announcement real time. Key features that were announced today…
1: No buttons, the screen adapts for what you want
2 The screen adjusts from portrait to landscape as you turn it
3: Detects when you are putting it up to your face and turns off flatscreen
4: Feeds for maps, weather
5: Free Yahoo push mail or blackberry feed
And as of this posting the folks at engadget.com are still doing announcements and the photo credit for the above pic is to them… so check out this blog at www.engadget.com to track it.
I am so excited to try this out and ditch my razr!! I called cingular and they don’t have it in their profile yet, but they announced it will work with cingular. I checked with the apple store and they are expecting some news in a few hours. Chris heard that it might not be until June due to FCC approval. Either way, its cool.
Apple also has announced the specs here.

Riverfront Park updates us on City House (Glass House II)

Our team at Riverfront Park did an announcement on the website that the land has been purchased for City House, which many people have called Glass House II. Getting the land is one big sign that exciting things will be happening soon.
What great timing with folks starting to move in to Glass House (I) next week on January 8th. And I expect this is great news for everyone who wanted to get into Glass House but didn’t. Plus I thought the rendering just looked cool and watching the first one go up was so exciting, I can’t wait to see the second one go up.

The Commons Park X-Games
No, these awesome tricks aren’t coming from the X-Games in Aspen, this is pure Commons Park during the Blizzard of 2006. What else would smart urbanites do but set up a jump and show off their moves. What a great day this was, just wanted to share these pics now that we finally got the photos off their card. If it wasn’t for Glass House in the background, who would know. I love snow.
Happy New Year!!

Get to know these folks…
Just a quick glimpse at the pool terrace units in Glass House. With walk out access directly to the pool and amenity deck these folks are in a great spot to be social. So if you meet them in the lobby or getting mail, be nice or you won’t be invited to their bar-b-q.
