The Cult playing at Off-Center @ The Jones

Okay, Okay… I admit I’m a HUGE Nerd.  Of all the things I love movies and Improv have to be near the top of the list (outside of my absolute tops.. my gal, my pup, and a fresh powder day of skiing) so when I heard that there is a new Improv show in town that combines movies and Improv I had to spread the word.

The show is called the Cult and here are the rules from their website…

Second Thursday of every month at 8:35pm because THURSDAY…it’s the new FRIDAY!

It’s Off-Center’s monthly live movie in real 3-D! Six recurring actors will improv their way through a plot that intertwines memorable movie moments. Each month, we’ll change it, add to it and do it all over again. So whether you want to see Forest run, an Exorcist head spin, or just want to walk the red carpet and eat popcorn, this show is for you. But don’t just watch it…help us create it!

Help create the next sequel of CULT FOLLOWING by submitting your favorite movie moments and voting on the Top 10 List.

Each month’s show will include 5 movie moments suggested by the audience:

• 2 will be the most popular moments from the Top 10 List – chosen from your online submissions
• 2 will be chosen at random from the live audience suggestions the month before
• 1 will come from a random person on the street

How cool is that!  I’m currently taking classes in Improv at the Bovine Metropolis, learning the little bits and pieces of this amazingly fun game / way of life.  I have to say… it is far too much fun and I find at the end of every class that I’m wishing it just kept going.  So with a great deal of respect and love of Improv I have to tell you… check out this show.  I plan to.  In fact one of my own Improv games was to start every scene with suggestion for a famous line of a movie.  I can’t imagine how great an entire show would be with these movie suggestions wrapped in.
