Denver Mountain Train Advocacy
Denver Mountain Train Advocacy Fanpage
Those of you who have been tracking this blog know that in addition to talking about Denver restaurants, events, urban development and other fun things I also like to get on the sustainable living bandwagon. I like living without my car here in Denver as much as possible and with the great new Bcycle and pedestrian bridge improvements Denver continues to get more and more pedestrian, bike and overall green living friendly.
And why not… it saves us all money on gas so we can enjoy dining out, registering for a fun race, or buying a ticket to see our favorite band. With 300+ days of Denver sunshine it is almost always fun too!
But during the ski season I am always reminded that I do have to drive to do one thing I love… enjoy the mountains. Sadly we even lost our Winter Park Ski Train years ago with no replacement in sight. So with yesterday’s repeated I-70 closures and the hours (and hours) that we have all lost with the metering on the tunnel or the endless line of congested traffic Saturday mornings (up) and Sunday nights (down) I thought it was time to use social media to get some rallying behind a train between Denver and the Mountains.
Visit the new Facebook page for the Denver Mountain Train Advocacy Fanpage and by all means spread the word via anything you can (Facebook, Twitter, maybe even word of mouth).
Let’s hope someday we can all share a laugh and a toast while kicking back in a comfy train seat as we ride in style to our favorite Colorado mountain ski destination. With the new Union Station neighborhood development it would be a great tie in. And just think… tourists could go from DIA to Union Station and connect to their ski destination without a car.
What a wonderful world it would be!
I’m looking for admins for the page too so let me know if you are interested.
