Passports issued in the U.S.

One item of discussion on the trip was a brief debate about how many Americans had passports. Out of curiosity I wanted to find out the answer and while the guess was about 10-20% the reality is that it is closer to 30% and rising every year. Perhaps the new passport requirements for Mexico and Canada gave it a big boost but with Oil and Gas rising the new debate is about whether that number will begin to fall again.
Sadly, for whatever reason, Colorado’s numbers aren’t very high but certainly not the lowest group. I know we have a great state with tons of recreation but I also would have expected more of an explorer attitude from us as well.
