Urban Life in Denver

Simply put, what is the BEST neighborhood in Denver 2008

All things considered, and that is up to you.. What is the answer?

By the way, due to a couple of comments about wanting to include more areas of Denver I went to Wikipedia and used their list as of the date of this poll. I won’t do this again. I never meant to cover all the burbs of Denver and wanted to stick to the urban city area. It’s what I like. But please visit the Urban Brain forum and help me define what those city areas are.

For those of you who want all of Denver, this post is for you.

  2. Someone pointed out that I was missing Riverfront Park, their favorite. This list was taken from Wikipedia’s list of Denver official neighborhoods and I agree that it is confusing. So going forward I am going to use the same shortened list I had before. Check out the Denver list of neighborhoods page and make edits there. So OFFICIALLY so I know, according to the map and list on Wikipedia, what neighborhood is Riverfront Park?

  3. There is no such thing as “Officially” for Denver neighborhoods. What you’re referring to is “statistical neighborhoods” — used by Denver government for summarizing statistical information (such as crime stats, etc.). As you’ve noticed, it bears little relation to what actual residents would actually call their actual neighborhoods. I understand your desire for the “one true official answer”, but there ain’t one. And it certainly isn’t the broad-brush “statistical neighborhoods”.

  4. You are right about that, I don’t like this list. I have had a number of people suggest that the polls list is too vague, or too specific, or a number of things. So I posted an area where readers can make their own suggestion of what the best list of neighborhoods should be at http://www.theurbanbrain.org/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=11

But to date no one has submitted a list. C’mon folks, you would be far more helpful to tell me what you think the list should be than what it shouldn’t be.

  5. Here is an updated poll using the original list I had been using. Remember, if you have suggestions post them to the forum link above.
