What are you doing during the Democratic National Convention
I was cruising down the 16th street mall last week and noticed a bunch of DNC folks out talking to people. It may have been that they were working on this video that recently came out.
So here is my question.. what are you doing for the Democratic National Convention. I keep hearing folks talk about renting out their place. Of course, the stories keep growing and growing. While getting my hair cut last week I heard a story about 900 square feet going for $5000 a night for the 3 main nights. The location was supposed to be right next the the Pepsi Center, the tenant was supposed to be top secret and no one could share who they were, and the conditions included daily maid service and turn down (they hired a maid company) and getting all their personal items out of there (They hired a pod moving company to load all their clothes and effects for short term storage).
Basically, they were getting $15,000, spending $1,000 to pod stuff and on the maid, and using the remainder to go to Cabo for the week. They estimated getting paid $10 grand for their vacation. Not bad.
Of course there are many buildings that have rules against short term rentals. But being tempted with that much cash folks are finding loopholes around it. “Here, sign a 30 day lease but just use it for 3 days”. Hmmmmm, I have heard that one quite a few times lately. I know at least one unit in my building that doesn’t allow short term rentals has been rumored to be planning a try at it.
That is precisely what most of the stories are…. gossip. So let’s hear it all in The Urban Brain forum and answer the poll about what YOU are going to do. Let’s hear it Denver. Stay for the fun or get out of town? Rent or don’t rent? If you did rent what did you get for your place? Is Denver ready or not? What are some of the things to expect while in town?
