There’s a flaw here. There are two kinds of Mexican restaurants, not one. Chubby’s and Tamayo, both great, are not comparable. One has 20-year-old tequila and the other has 20-year-old placemats. Both are great, but they’re not even close to the same kind of restaurant.
You are right, and that is the beauty of it. I can’t wait to find out which is the favorite between two totally different Mexican experiences. Of course some of it is mood related so everyone please comment on why you voted for your pick.
you are missing tacos jalisco! that’s like going to confession and not knowing what rosary beads are! well, sort of.
i also think you should have two categories: best dive mexican and best not-show-up-in-your-sweatpants mexican. i was not able to vote because of this necessary distinction.
