Mode of Transportation
Just loved this photo. Wish the streets were closed with snow every day. This was from our cross country ski trip for breakfast during the blizard.

The Commons Park X-Games
No, these awesome tricks aren’t coming from the X-Games in Aspen, this is pure Commons Park during the Blizzard of 2006. What else would smart urbanites do but set up a jump and show off their moves. What a great day this was, just wanted to share these pics now that we finally got the photos off their card. If it wasn’t for Glass House in the background, who would know. I love snow.
Happy New Year!!

Gallop Mary, Denver’s Best Bloody Mary
In an earlier post I ranted and raved about the Great Bloody Mary we had during the Blizzard at the Gallop Cafe. After using the Denver Streets as our Cross Country track we reached the Gallop and got this special treat of the Best vegetable filled bloody mary served with a beer chaser and a warm open faced turkey sandwich.
YUM!!
Tasty, and a wonderful cafe. Just wanted to pass on some pics from this great day and recommend you stop in yourself.

McDonalds Training Video circa 1972
Okay, so maybe this post isn’t just about Denver, but it is about people. A number of marketing blogs are circulating these McDonalds training videos from 1972. The usual comment is that McDonalds has the negative attitude they make fun of in the video today.
Is it the sunshine in Denver, or are we the happier ones. This post is asking for you to comment, what places around town, what restaurants, what businesses, do you think have the best attitude. And for that matter, which ones have the worst.
Just curious. So lets hear YOUR thoughts.
The Video is just for fun, check out those 70’s hair styles in the beginning. LOVE IT!!

Get to know these folks…
Just a quick glimpse at the pool terrace units in Glass House. With walk out access directly to the pool and amenity deck these folks are in a great spot to be social. So if you meet them in the lobby or getting mail, be nice or you won’t be invited to their bar-b-q.

Sutra Room Opens December 29th at 8:00 pm
With a tag line of “Sundays are for Sleeping” the new Sutra Lounge is offering up an attitude of late nights, private VIP tables, and bottle service as they open the newest Denver night club.
The Sutra Room describes itself as a “sensous, sultry retreat for Denver’s social elite” with a dance club housing an “unforgettable organic candle lit entry”. Okay, I know I need to see that to understand it, but open flames at 2:00 am may be interesting all by itself (don’t have to many bubbles from the bottle service). DJ’s, drummers, 12 VIP booths, lavish bed spaces and raised bottle service area all sound like this new establishment is going for something often seen in cities like LA and New York. But we know that Denver is ready for this and our social elite are always ready to try a new edge. So make sure to be at the opening on December 29th at 8:00, and come back here to let us know how it is.
Located at 1109 Lincold Blvd. in Denver open Thursday through Saturday only from 8 PM to close.

When it snows… you can always count on…
Sure, they talk about the post office being reliable no matter whatever the weather. But it looks like the only thing moving across this snow storm is beer. Just had to snag a shot of this keg being rolled across the plaza at Riverfront Park. It was just funny to watch. Everyone is heading for the indoors, the cars are all tucked away, and the only movement is a keg getting wheeled to its destination. Not sure where it is headed, perhaps someone decided to stock up better for round two of the 2006 blizzards, or perhaps a pub is getting ready for the locals. Hmmmmm… and I was just thinking of sushi.
Gotta love living in the city!
