Breakfast of fried bananas, eggs, and green peas
While in Santa Fe we had the best breakfast at a Pasquals. What makes this breakfast nook so comfortable is the family style seating. The large table in the center of the room is constantly filled on a rotation with single, two, three, and four person breakfast diners. When you sit at the table you are welcomed by those already there, and its your duty to welcome whomever joins while you are there.
During our dining experience we met a very sweet woman who had been visiting Santa Fe as part of a group session. She had come into Pasqual’s the day before and loved it so much she had to come back. It’s nice to find a place that makes people feel like that. Our breakfast was delicious, the coffee was tasty, and the company of people we got to meet were friendly.
My favorite was the HUEVOS MOTULEÑOS - Eggs Over Easy on Corn Tortillas with Black Beans Topped with Sauteéd Bananas, Feta Cheese, Green Peas, Salsa Fresca Served with Green Chile or Tomatillo Salsa. AWESOME!! Don’t let the green peas scare you.

Santa Fe hanging by the fire
I am just coming back from a wonderful weekend in Sante Fe. After a last minute decision and desire for a road trip this weekend we shot to Sante Fe and stayed at the amazing St. Francis hotel. Here are a few tips.
First of all, call for last minute cancellations. Not only did we get into the St. Francis calling the day we were planning to arrive, we got a great rate. Then we called 10,000 Waves for a private bath and they were all booked up, so we left our number. No more than three hours later, we were still driving, we got a call and a great private bath opened up. Last minute travel, while not for all people, can really offer some great advantages. Lets face it, people cancel at the last minute and that can mean some great opportunities.

New Camera - Better Photos
I am very excited today!! My new Nikon D-80 came in and today was the first day I got to shoot it. Wow, so much better than anything this amateur has ever used. My goal is to post some great photos on this blog, showing whatever glimpse of Denver I can capture that is unique.
I got both the 70-300mm lens and the 28-70mm lens so I could cover a broad range, however I think some advice I received recently was better, I should have just got a universal lens instead of going so specific…. Only time will tell. Any advice out there from any photographers in the audience would be appreciated.
I love it, check it out as it is just shipping.

29th Starz Denver Film Festival
Coming November 9 - 19th - Denver Starz Film Festival
Over 100 international filmmakers, directors, actors, and other film artists will be here for the 10 day Denver Film Festival! Denver considers this one of their most important annual events, and the excitement about the film festival is building. Windows will be decorated on Larimer street and retailers are going to have a theme of “Fashion out of Film”. Imagine people wearing a dress made out of film, and I mean literally film.
But lets forget about fashion for a moment and focus on the films. If you visit their site and check out the events list you will see that there will be a great exhibition of film for everyone to see. See you at the movies.

Snow Storm hits Denver!
I love snow!! It makes me think of skiing, or curling up by the fire with a good book. Even my pup is excited, of course he is a nordic breed so that is no suprise.
As soon as I got up this morning he and I were off to Commons Park to play in the snow. No one was out yet, except of course the trusted staff at Riverfront Park that keep the area beautiful every day. These folks, with their sunny yellow jackets were out shoveling all the sidewalks in Riverfront, and in this photo the bridge itself. Whether they were using a regular shovel or riding their 4WD snow ATVs, they were getting the job done.
Just a little toast to these early morning risers who keep our area safe. Thanks!
My pup and I appreciate it!

Cash Key - The best option for parking downtown

First of all, you shouldn’t be driving downtown. Bike, Walk, use RTD, or levitate there but if you can try not to drive. It’s good for the environment and Denver really is very transit friendly, more so every day.
However, there are times when you need to drive, and if you are like me I never have change for the parking meter. Here is a solution, it is a key that you can pre fund and then you can use it whenever you need to park. GENIUS!!
